Advanced Steel
Advance Steel software drives collaboration between Blackstone’s engineers, detailers and our fabricator clients while improving coordination and design intent. With Advance Steel, Blackstone can:

AutoCAD
Blackstone’s detailing teams use of AutoCAD to support creativity with automation, collaboration, and machine-learning. AutoCAD helps us to detail and annotate 2D geometry and 3D models with solids, surfaces, and mesh objects.
Using Autocad, we can automate tasks such as comparing drawings, counting objects, adding blocks, creating schedules, and more. The latest versions of this powerful software helps us to maximize productivity with add-on apps and APIs
BIM Collaboration
Blackstone Group uses 3D modeling software for most steel fabrication and building construction projects. These software platforms help plan the work, aid in the flow of fabrication and allow us to identify errors quickly. 3D models provide the geometric base for BIM (Building Information Modeling) allowing for construction trade collaboration as well as the visualization of building elements.
Blackstone also uses the 3D digital model as the basis for information exchange between other software platforms. Whether material ordering, processing or machine code, Blackstone works with our clients to provide the correct data exchanges.
If the project BIMXP (BIM Execution Plan) requires participation in BIM project meeting, we are prepared to offer that service. If this service is required, please let us know so we can plan and set aside time in the project schedule. If you need a simple IFC, XML files, or other format, please let us know. Our model submittals follow the AIA and BIMForum guidelines for LOD (level of Development) for elements within the model when submitting for coordination and use.
